MIAMI—IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group), the world’s largest hotel group by number of rooms and Latin America’s most experienced international hotel company, concludes a week of celebrations to say ‘thanks’ to the teams across their hotels, offices and reservation centres around the world. With 4,400 hotels around the world, IHG took time out to show its appreciation to the people who help create Great Hotels Guests Love.
‘Celebrate Service Week’ – an initiative launched by IHG in partnership with its Owners’ Association, the IAHI – was designed to give back to the people who work tirelessly every day for their guests. It ran from July 26 – 30, 2010, dedicated to celebrating the 330,000 people, from accountants to chefs and housekeeping to HR, who work throughout its hotels and offices, for their invaluable contribution.
“Every day at different IHG hotels, our staff delivers satisfying guests experiences, keeping our guests happy and returning to our hotels,” said Alvaro Diago, COO, IHG, Latin America and Caribbean. “Celebrate Service is a recognition week that provides us with a chance to join forces with all the brand hotels of the IHG family around the world and show our people just how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication.”
During ‘Celebrate Service Week,’ 73 hotels of the Latin America and Caribbean region also thanked their employees in a variety of ways from prizes and raffles to special breakfasts and events.
Around the world, there are 330,000 people working in Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Staybridge Suites, Candlewood Suites and Hotel Indigo hotels. Last year, IHG opened 345 hotels, creating 25,000 new jobs and another 160,000 jobs will be created over the next five years as 1,300 more hotels open under these brands.
